Laura Caponi

Architecture | Architect | MArch. ARB

Laura is a registered architect in the UK and Italy with a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Sapienza University and a Master´s thesis in Public housing heritage redevelopment systems for Rome, developed in collaboration with its Municipality.

Prior to joining Bryden Wood in January 2017, Laura had worked for two smaller architectural practices, where she was involved in a number of housing projects in Italy, along with a large scale residential development project in Russia. While assisting in the design process of the latter, she also acquired an active role in the management of the relationship with the client and the local authorities, facilitated by her native command of the Russian language, as well as her knowledge of the local building regulations.

Since joining Bryden Wood, Laura has been working on the design of the new facility building for IGUS in Germany, one of Bryden Wood’s longest ongoing projects as well as one of the most iconic, where architectural and technological solutions reflect the client’s mindset and modus operandi. She has participated in the development of the design from the concept stage, proposing new suitable solutions while aiming to abide by the original design principles. Currently involved in the tender stage, Laura is engaged in communicating with the local consultants thanks to her knowledge of German, and actively helps coordinating the Structural and MEP teams.

Laura believes that dialogue within the team is fundamental for a good design as well as the best tool for self-improvement.
