Bryden Wood is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ‘DfMA Architect’ with an interest in off-site construction and DfMA to join the expanding Systemisation team in the Lonon Office.
The systemisation team develops innovative building systems and advanced construction methods through detailed design and productisation. Work ranges from concept development to delivery of fabrication level designs for manufacture. Projects vary across a broad range of sectors with a focus on DfMA, systems, modularisation, and other off-site solutions. Our team also supports the development and delivery of fabrication detailing.
You will work on multiple complex and exciting projects concurrently, at varying stages of completion, to provide technical architectural support within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with our Creative Technologies, Architectural, Structural, Civils, and Building Service Engineering teams.
Applicants will be expected to work collaboratively in this environment, supporting the technical architectural needs of the team and assisting in cross-disciplinary design efforts.
Support will be provided by our Architect and Engineering Teams to obtain Architectural Part 3 or Engineering Chartership if you are not already. Our training schemes are approved by RIBA/CIBSE/ICE.
Educational and Experience Background:
Degree in Architecture or Technical Architecture
Experience of 3 - 5 years working in either a design office or within the architectural, engineering or construction industry;
A minimum of 3 years’ experience using Autodesk Revit on design/construction projects
Experience in the principles of DfMA and offsite construction at RIBA stage 4
Experience overseeing the work of other designers
Knowledge of design codes
Experienced with detailed architectural packages
Understanding of structural or mechanical systems
Knowledge of construction, fabrication, or manufacturing an asset
Experience with technical specifications an asset
A good understanding of the principles of BIM
Parametric modelling an asset
Experience reviewing reports and analysis for issue
Willingness to work and learn beyond your discipline
Excellent communications skills in English both written and verbal
Good organisational skills
Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
Self-motivated to study and learn and able to take responsibility
Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks
Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team
Able to build good relationships at all levels
