Role Description:

Bryden Wood are currently seeking to recruit a 'Senior BIM Technologist' to join the expanding Structural and Civil team in the London office.

This opportunity will offer the chance to work on some fantastic project throughout the world (Europe, Asia, Middle East, USA). The sectors will include aviation, leisure facilities, residential, mixed-use development, pharmaceutical and many more.


Educational and Experience Background:

  • A university degree in ‘Civil/Structural Engineering’
  • An appropriate level of experience using Autodesk Revit on design/construction projects


Essential Skills:

  • Experience in creating view templates, filters, design options, phases, model quantities schedules, 3D rebar and rebar schedules
  • Experience in creating complex parametric Revit families (BIM Content)
  • Experience and clear understanding of projects geolocation setting out, implementation and use of shared coordinates, publishing coordinates, managing site models, etc
  • Experience working with internal and external information from a coordination point of view and demonstration of working with live Architectural and MEP linked models
  • Good knowledge of 2D/3D AutoCAD
  • Good knowledge working with coordination review tools such as Navisworks or Solibri
  • Good knowledge working with Navisworks to produce clash detection, simulation and quantification
  • Experience working with ISO19650-1:2018 and ISO19650-2:2018 (formerly BS1192:2007+A2:2016 and PAS1192-2:2013 respectively)
  • Experience leading projects and managing a small group of BIM Technologists to produce models and drawing packages from concept to completion
  • A will to develop an understanding of other disciplines for coordination is a requirement


Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience in structural steelwork or precast fabrication detailing and DfMA
  • Experience in automation tools such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, etc
  • Good knowledge working with IFC, COBie and Uniclass
  • Good knowledge working with NBS standards
  • Experience in other modelling software such as Solidworks, Civils 3D, etc



  • Working with Engineers and liaising with the internal and external project team to produce structural models and drawings
  • Producing the assigned packages and planning its own work and the necessary resources to meet the deadlines
  • Creating schedules of quantities and produce construction sequences
  • Working with project teams to develop and implement project-specific BIM workflows, BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and data management
  • Ensuring Project’s BEP is up to date with all project changes prior to issuing the BIM models
  • Acting as the Structural BIM Modelling lead in projects and carry out drawings and models auditing for self and other Technologists to ensure it is compliant with Bryden Wood’s BIM standards/project requirements
  • Maintaining project-specific library of families and develop new families as required along with other project-specific contents
  • Assisting in the organisation and coordination of the structural design team as needed to successfully deliver projects
  • Mentoring and providing support for junior and intermediate BIM Technologists
  • Assisting the BIM Managers and Principal BIM Technologists with BIM related tasks
