Summary

As a placement engineer, you will work within an exciting and fast-paced design environment, contributing collaboratively with the multiple disciplines at Bryden Wood. Projects range from airports to hospitals and from large scale residential developments to individual luxury villas.

 

Role Description

As a placement engineer, your duties will be to assist the team on a variety of projects across a number of industries in construction. You will be given early responsibility to contribute to designs including drawing work, calculations and report writing. You will also be given the opportunity to attend site visits and design team meetings.

There are a number disciplines at Bryden Wood including architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, building analytics and advanced visualisation; you will be working collaboratively with the other disciplines as part of an integrated design team to produce efficient and effective design solutions.

The successful candidate is expected to be proactive and has a creative approach to problem-solving, supported by a strong analytical ability and capacity to work well with others.

Key skills required include:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for engineering design and willingness to work within a challenging design environment on both the civil and structural elements of projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn modelling software including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and opportunities to innovate the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word and Excel).

 

This placement position is for a 1 year period and is available from summer 2020.
