Adam Jordan, Director of Architecture, Bryden Wood Singapore, presented at the 2nd Annual Construction Excellence Conference: ‘Prefab, Precast and Modular Buildings’, which was held in Singapore 13-15 November.
The conference covered trends and identified market dynamics, such as drivers, restraints, opportunities and challenges in the prefabrication industry. Growth strategies were also explored and how technology and innovative processes are being widely adopted to increase their construction productivity and enhance long term sustainability.
Adam was invited to present on the subject of prefab and hybrid technologies. His presentation covered the topic of “Integrated Asset Delivery with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA): Market Driven Solutions for our Built Environment.” It drew on some of the content that Bryden Wood has developed for the “Delivery Platforms for Government Assets” report that was recently published with Digital Built Britain. Adam also participated in a round table discussion, covering strategies to promote the wider adoption of BIM and DfMa approaches across regional economies. Commenting, Adam said: “The conference was well attended by a range of industry stakeholders and was an opportunity to collaborate and share ideas and strategies to adopt more effective and productive processes for the delivery of construction projects.”
