The beach house, a holiday retreat located in Florida, started construction in April 2016. During the first 6 months, all the exposed concrete and steel structure that characterises the architectural form of the house were built up to the first floor level. The following weeks will see the erection of the first floor steel columns, exposed concrete roof level beams and a roof slab before the construction moves towards the enclosure of the building envelope formed by over one hundred impact resistant window and sliding door panels.
The partially built house structure has already demonstrated its stability to withstand strong winds, standing the nearly 130mph winds during the recent storm surge of Hurricane Matthew as it passed along the Florida coast line.
