Fantastic news from the AJ Specifications Awards where we have been shortlisted in two categories:
Firstly, our work on Crossrail's Elizabeth Line fit-out has been selected in the Façades & Cladding category. The solution we devised for the challenging architecture follows manufacturing principles in contrast to site-based solutions typical in civil engineering & infrastructure projects. Congratulations to the team here at Bryden Wood, as well as to our clients and partners, Laing O'Rourke, GRCUK, as well as Crossrail/C100.
Secondly, our cladding design on the Shell Southbank Centre with Expanded & ExpLORe Manufacturing has been chosen in the Technology category. Our solution here allowed glazing to be fitted to a series of pre-cast panels which were specifically designed and post-tensioned to meet the daylight criteria with full height glazing in flats. The panels were fully unitised with integral projecting glazing and were then lifted into position. This achieved the architectural vision of the original design by Patel Taylor whilst allowing installation to a shorter programme & less crane usage. Our design involved extensive use of 3D BIM software, & a customized suite of computational design & graphical programming tools. Well done to all involved!
