Churchwood Gardens started construction in Forest Hill, Lewisham in June 2016. Currently nearly all 9 buildings of this residential development, have been completed to Ground Level stage. Each of these buildings will have a stepped profile allowing for the formation of a cascade of ‘green’ roof spaces at differing levels, with biodiversity as a planting priority.
Buildings 1 and 9’s superstructure are nearing completion. Facing Tyson Road, both buildings are almost at Roof Level. Brickwork cladding is being finished and cedar cladding will follow. The windows and green/brown roofs are due to start inn January 2017, together with the landscaping works along Tyson Road boundary.
Retaining sheet piling works, for all buildings with naturally ventilated, undercroft car parking, has been finalised and excavation for all undercroft formation is near completion. The following weeks will see the construction of concrete piling, slabs, columns and walls at this level.
