Bryden Wood recently wrote the book ‘Delivery Platforms for Government Assets: Creating a Marketplace for Manufactured Spaces’. This sets out a methodology by which the Government client could use the scale of its construction portfolio to help transform the market for creating high performing assets that improve the service for users, citizens and society. This would also facilitate the creation of a highly skilled and productive workforce. The book sets out how Government could improve the performance of assets towards international benchmarks, delivering enhanced quality, lower carbon and increased whole life value. Finally, it describes how the UK could develop advanced manufacturing capability, products and services in the UK that could be exported globally.
This book has been adopted by Digital Built Britain as a key articulation of the means of improving construction. It is a central document in the Industry Strategy Challenge Fund and was distributed to all attendees at the Construction Leadership Council conference in July.
