Jami joined Bryden Wood in 2011 and has worked on a range of large scale residential, education and aviation projects. Jami is currently project architect for Gatwick Pier 1, an £80m+ redevelopment scheme for a new pier building which is nearing its completion. Leading a large multidisciplinary team, Jami has gained significant experience in delivering a complex project in a live airport environment, constrained by a condensed programme. Jami attends site weekly, where she assists with technical detailing as well as general problem solving.
Prior to Gatwick Pier 1, Jami has worked on several residential schemes at Bryden Wood. Her role on a mixed-use resdiential development, was to promote digital standardisation and efficiency between the ‘plot teams’ within the office. Due to the large scaled nature of the masterplan overall, it was essential to optimise BIM workflows and exchange lessons learnt to maintain the programme. Jami helped to establish and implement BIM protocols for this project and was responsible for developing a fully parametric façade panel tool which was integrated into the Bryden Wood chassis design suite.
On a much smaller scale, Jami produced the initial concept design information for the Blasé Beach House. For this bespoke house in Florida, Jami’s role was much more focused on the aesthetic of the scheme as a whole. Jami produced the initial 3D concept model in Revit, which was a useful tool for communicating the design to the client.
Jami has also worked on several school projects, most recently the extension to Heathlands Primary School in Colchester. Jami contributed to the external design of the school, which was required to emulate the context architecturally whilst offering contemporary construction approaches. Jami was predominantly responsible for the detailing of the cladding.
With a keen interest in BIM, Jami is involved in implementing and monitoring ‘digital delivery’ within the Bryden Wood office. She conducts internal BIM training workshops for staff, as well as advising on how to curate BIM execution plans that are tailor made to suit project specifics.
