Markus is a chartered engineer and joined Bryden Wood in 2010. He is the director of the Bryden Wood’s civil and structural team which delivers engineering for projects of a combined construction value of approximately £250m/year. Markus also acts as project director for different multidisciplinary projects.
During his time at Bryden Wood he has led projects in a large variety of sectors in the UK and internationally including private and public buildings in healthcare, residential, education, airports, factories and defence. Furthermore Markus has been responsible for projects in infrastructure including a waste water plant, work for Crossrail, Network Rail and the Highway Agency. Before starting at Bryden Wood Markus worked as Project Engineer on a variety of projects in the UK, Europe and overseas in different building sectors and Oil & Gas including specialist design for blast resistant buildings.
Markus has a track record of achieving significant cost & programme savings at all stages of projects. He recently halved steelwork and concrete quantities on two separate airport projects when taking over schemes from other consultants. Markus is still closely involved during procurement and construction stages on his projects and is always prepared to assist to achieve optimum solutions for both clients and contractors.
