Richard joined Bryden Wood in summer 2017, having previously worked across all RIBA Work Stages at a range of different practices in the north west of England. These experiences consisted of working primarily in the residential, healthcare and education sectors.
Professionally Richard has also developed a keen interest in BIM workflows and how they enable multidisciplinary project teams to collaborate effectively to develop optimal project solutions.
During his Masters studies Richard designed a series of research and industrial buildings responding to policy opportunities in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. These buildings included a house 'factory' with integrated performance testing chamber and a grid storage upgrade structure which both required an appreciation of parameters set by specialist, technical programmatic needs as well as an effort to create spaces that would enhance the worker or user experience.
At Bryden Wood, Richard has begun working with the process design team working on factory systemisation projects for GlaxoSmithKline.
