Since completion of his Architectural degree Russell has gained extensive experience across a wide variety of sectors; residential, aviation, data centers, healthcare, education and commercial. Having worked for the last nine years with multi-disciplinary practice Bryden Wood Ltd. Russell has gained an in-depth knowledge of detail design, regulatory requirements (Building Regulations and British Standards), specification and product performance, collaboration between design disciplines, BIM design processes and Design for Manufacture.
Russell joined Bryden Wood in 2005, initially working at Heathrow on the Terminal 5 project as a Technical Integrator, becoming the interface between the main contractor and numerous sub-contractors. Following this project Russell joined the central office where he worked as Project Leader on the Athlete’s Village for the 2012 London Olympics, from its inception in the office. This role involved detail design, package co-ordination with Plot Architects/consultants/third parties and also developed to an on-site presence to monitor the construction.
Russell has managed a number of projects from the design phase into construction and all the way through to completion, demonstrating an awareness of both client aspirations and the practicalities required to deliver a successful project. Russell is now an Associate within the office, and has been overseeing a number of projects; including a state of the art Data Centre fit-out and the Crossrail platform tunnel lining project.
