Xabier joined Bryden Wood in 2016 as a design engineer. He is currently working on the cladding system of Crossrail tunnels, which involves the design of GRC panels and the stainless steel structure to support them. The system will be used in the platform, concourse, escalators, cross passages and access tunnels in Liverpool Street, Tottenham Court Road and Whitechapel stations. The design needs to facilitate a “right first time” erection and a zero tolerance design that minimises fixings into the tunnel wall.
Xabier studied in Spain and France and has been working as an engineer for the last 7 years.
During this time he has worked in many different industries, such as, telecommunications, automotive or furniture manufacturing. His role has always been closely related to design for manufacturing and as such he has gained extensive experience in manufacturing processes and materials, as well as in all the necessary tasks in a project from beginning to completion.
